Author Visits

I love meeting readers, both young and young at heart, and helping them discover a passion for reading and writing. My fun, interactive presentations explore topics in history and science for multiple classroom while smaller hands-on workshops give students an opportunity to dive deeper in research and writing.

I am also available to speak to children or adult audiences at museums, libraries, and bookstores, and to teen or adult writers at conferences or events. Currently, I am booking in-person or virtual 45-minute classroom visits.

The Journey to Becoming a Children’s Author

World Read Aloud Day: On the first Wednesday of February, many authors are available to read one of their books (or a chapter in one of their books) to students across the United States. I typically offer FREE virtual 20-minutes sessions that include an introduction, reading of one of my picture books, and a brief Q&A time to allow students to get to know me and the publishing process a little bit better. This year, I will be offering readings of either MOON TREE (Grades 2-5) or M IS FOR MASON JAR (Grades PreK-1). Bookings begins in November. Send a Request.

Testimonials:

Carolyn Fraiser came and presented to our PK-2 school of around 500 students in grade level sections of about 100 each.  She had a variety of resources to engage the students. She also had homestead items for them to see and had alphabet cards, both of which made the presentation very interactive. Mrs. Fraiser practiced letter order and letter sounds with the younger students and focused on alliteration and content with our older students. There was something for everyone in her presentation. Additionally, Mrs. Fraiser was easy to work with to create a program that fit the parameters of our school.  It was a pleasurable learning experience for our students and they were so excited to have met an author and many had books signed by her, which was very special. I highly recommend Mrs. Fraiser for school presentations.

Carolyn was a brilliant guest speaker with her webinar “Breathing Life into Nonfiction.” She went above and beyond, providing details on her research process and sharing resources with my local SCBWI Southern Breeze group. She kind to stay beyond the slated time, and field all participants’ questions after the conclusion of the webinar.

– Nancy So Miller, SCBWI Southern Breeze Local Liaison (Georgia)

WOW! I’m so glad I attended Carolyn B. Frasier’s “Breathing Life into Non-Fiction” webinar! Carolyn, the author of MOON TREE, brought a wealth of knowledge, encouragement, and warmth to her presentation. She inspired me to give nonfiction a try now that I understand the different kinds of nonfiction and the key elements of a successful nonfiction story. Don’t miss the opportunity to learn from Carolyn’s expertise and bring your nonfiction to life!
